Ron Ripley (Ghost Stories)

Ron Ripley is an Amazon bestseller and Top 40 horror author.  He is husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day.  Ron grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed.  Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones.  Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.

Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

MOVING IN (Book 1)

“Iron…and…salt,” whispers the old man. The dead old man. “Hurry or it will be too late…”

To escape the stress of living in the city and the anxiety of his high pressure job, Brian Roy moves his family to the country. His wife loves the easy living, but Brian hates it…especially when weird things start happening in the house. When he discovers a dead body in the woods and a burial ground in his basement, Brian could never imagine the shocking history of the house or its former occupants that comes to light.

As his life starts to unravel, Brian isn’t so sure living in the country is going to be the oasis of peace he and his wife expected. Lately, his home has become a haunting den of hell.

THE DUNEWALKERS (Book 2)

After the death of his Army comrade, William Engberg moves into a simple New Hampshire home against the backdrop of the turbulent foam crested waves of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the ideal place to write and get on with his post-military life. Except for one thing. He has unwanted house guests—ghosts—and he wants them gone!

Determined to reclaim his home, William hires Brian, a ghostbusterpreneur, to clean house. Armed with knowledge from a rare journal on how to vanquish the dead, Brian goes to work only to discover his worst nightmare. Ready or not, Brian must deal with his own ghostly demons once and for all if he’s going to save William…and himself!

MIDDLEBURY SANITARIUM (Book 3)

Brian Roy is the brainchild behind the Leonidas Group, a ghostbusting organization with a track record of incomparable success for tracking down and annihilating ghosts. This time, however, Brian may have met his match with his latest job investigating Middlebury Sanitarium!

Occupied by a host of undeads, Middlebury Sanitarium has a history of drugging its residents to prevent them from entering the grounds at night and becoming a part of the “lost brigade” never to be heard from again. From a vengeful King who ruthlessly protects his royal domain, to Clyde a faceless soldier who’s still fighting WWI—Brian’s got his hands full! And then there’s the boneyard…

Now, Brian teams up with an old vet caretaker, Ken Buckingham, to de-ghost the place. But the shrewd, kindly old man has a few secrets up his own sleeve that even Brian could have never anticipated.

  36. i read about 80 percent of the time and this is the first review/comment I’ve ever made. Must tell you how much I’ve enjoyed all three of your books. The thing that’s driven me to comment is how refreshing it was to read something driven so much by dialog and interaction rather than description.
Yes, I could wish that they were longer but the sense that I was getting the real meat of the story and not a bunch of filler and fluff more than made up for the brevity. Thank you so much for the really enjoyable time I had!

    • Susie, thanks for your heartfelt comment. So glad that you’re having a great time reading!

    • I agree. Not long but all great creepy action. I love that it doesn’t have tons of description also. That gets boring. I have read three trilogies in a week from you, Ron. Waiting for more. Thanks!

  43. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the four Trilogies I just read. They each kept me enthralled to the end and I hope more books are to come. Kudos on such great backgrounds all connecting to the towns. I am from Tennessee but I could easily connect to your main character in each book and loved the use of so many curses. Would love to have an autograph someday!

  44. Just finished reading Sherman’s Library. A good read. Would love to see just a little bit more action. I will be putting Ron Ripley on my list of must read authors.

Just read Moving In! Loved, loved, loved it!! Easily the best horror I’ve read and I’ve read a lot by many authors! This book was so well developed and the characters were so relatable. Great book from the first page to the last! I simply cannot wait to read the next one! Headed to load it as soon as I thank you for such a superb read! ?

  67. WOW,loved the fairy tale story, yes want more thank you.

  68. Great book. Scary but keeps you reading to the end.

  69. First time reading your work. Concise, captivating and suspenseful. Many a time I have read books with disappointing denouement. Not yours!! Kudos!
Time worth spent. Definitely going to look for more of your books. Thank you so much for inspiring !

  70. I love when Writers grab your attention from the very first page..I read a lot and also get bored extremely quickly, The Boylan House is the first book I have read from you and I enjoyed it from the first to the last wanting more and I’m happy to say that now I can Binge read all the rest of your books,, The Boylan House reminds me of a house in my neighborhood when me and my friends were kids and it’s still there the house is over 175 years old and has been empty for 25 or 30 years.. So Thank you for one of the greater books I’ve read in a very long time and can’t wait to see what in store in all your other books…

    • Wow, your childhood shenanigans sounds like they took place in another Boylan House! Glad you enjoyed the book. Oh you’re going to like what’s in store!

  71. I’ve just finished the first book Blood Contract and enjoyed it very much! You have to read certain contracts closely because the consequences can be Bloody! :-0 lol

    • Hahaha that’s a good one! I sensed a lawyer joke coming but that was way better. Glad you enjoyed Becca!

  72. I am a voracious reader and have read at least a dozen or more books every month for the last 30 years. I have just finished reading the Moving In trilogy and I honestly have to say that Middlebury Sanitarium is about the best book I can ever remember reading. I was so thrilled to see that Brian and Jenny were not going to stop after this book. I’m waiting excitedly for the next one. I love your books. Please keep up the great work.

  73. Loved loved loved it…scared me to death.not used to reading horror but you caught me on the story…can’t wait for more..

  74. I just finished reading Berkley Street and as with each new book I find myself wanting more. I was absolutely enthralled with this book. As I read each page I hoped it wouldn’t end. As I put in my review not since Koontz have I anxiously awaited new books. Mr. Ripley you have the talent of Koontz n King and I can only hope that you will soon be in hardback and on the NY Times best seller list. Hats off to talent most people dream of.

    • Let me thank you, sincerely thank you, for being such an avid and loyal reader. Also, you’ve paid me a tremendous compliment. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors, and a writer who I very much admire. In fact, right now I’m reading Salem’s Lot for the tenth time! I hope you continue to read my writing, and I hope to continue to create stories and characters you want to read. We haven’t seen the last of Shane 🙂

  75. I had downloaded Boylan House on my Kindle, started reading it on my breaks(was late coming back from a few), could not wait to get home and download the rest of the trilogy! Awesome book, like someone else had commented; you are in the league with King and Koontz. I love Stephen King and his earlier, scarier stories are the best. You have filled that void of good scary reads!!

    • Haha, thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it Rhonda! I love King and Koontz so it’s undoubtedly an honor to be compared to them. Enjoy the other books 🙂

  76. I am in LOVE with ALL of your books. Thank you for these wonderful reads.

  77. Love all your books they are great. When are you going to write some ebooks?

    • Thanks Kelly! My next release will be The Academy! It’ll be live on August 3rd and will be the final installment of the Moving In Series. Enjoy 🙂

  78. Will you be writing more Library books? Love love love this series!

    • Glad you enjoyed it Barbara! We’re exploring Shane Ryan’s journey for now in the Berkley Series. But if you’re looking for more of Charles Gottesman, he makes a few cameos in the Moving In Series!

  79. I was checking your books. Got most of them!!!

  80. Just read Sherman’s Library Trilogy, which it had been longer, it was over in no time. It reminded me of an old TV series called Friday 13 about a shop called Curious Goods which had a couple of kids looking for cursed objects which had been sold. Was still enjoyable. I have just bought all 6 Moving In books and look forward to reading them. Hope they scare me 🙂

  81. I really enjoyed Moving In, one of the best e-books I’ve read.

  82. Love all your books. Have read all of them twice. Keep up the good work, I really enjoyed the Moving in books and Berkley Street. I have already ordered number 6 and can’t wait until it gets here.

    • Wow, I’m really glad you’re enjoying them especially to read them twice! There’s more to come. Thanks so much for writing in!

  83. I want more Moving In Series!! IS there going to be more and when?

    • Hi Libby thanks so much for reading! We’re focused on the tales of Shane Ryan in the Berkley Series at the moment. But there’s no ruling out Brian Roy’s involvement in my books. After all, the ghost hunting world is quite small in New Hampshire
