Years ago, when I had first heard the legend of the Bell Witch, I had been instantly fascinated. Who could blame me? It’s practically tailor-made to hook the mind of a horror fan.
There’s a family tormented by a menacing ghost, a rage that even death couldn’t quell, mystery, murder, mysterious monsters lurking in the shadows—and a witch! What more could an overactive imagination want?
I had no idea at the time that this legend would serve as the sounding board for one of my most beloved series.
Writing the Bell Witch series has been a blast. I’ve felt like a kid playing in my macabre little sandbox, and I’m so grateful for all the people who have come on the journey with me.
While the series is reaching its conclusion, I’ve fallen in love with these characters and know they will live fondly in my heart. Let’s be honest, they’re probably safer there than they ever were within the pages of my books.
I don’t know if the Bell Witch is ever ready to let you go, it’s one of those things that just stick in the back of your mind.
But, for now, I’m ready to leave Black River.
After just one more visit, of course.

- Black River (Book 6)
See you in the shadows,
