Horror.

It’s why you and I are all here.

There’s something about being frightened, the act of willingly sitting down and reading or listening to a horror story sends a thrill through us.

I’m afraid of everything. Ridiculous, I know, for a horror author to be terrified of what he reads and writes. But I am.

As I sit in my chair with my mundane fears swarming around me, I seek something supernatural, something to escape the terrors of everyday life.

And what better way to entertain myself than with short horror stories?

Small glimpses of terror, dark creatures, and vile people. Hideous acts both natural and arcane. The fear that something is under the bed.

That’s what you’ll find in Night Terrors, a collection of short stories.

For the first time, my friends at Scare Street have reached out to authors and invited them to submit stories. The editors, who work far harder than anyone else I know, have selected the finest tales for our first volume.

And it is my privilege not only to read them but to pen this letter to you, my friend.

I know you love horror as much as I do. I know that it helps to keep the wolves at bay as darkness swirls around us. Horror, when it sends that rush of adrenaline racing through us, is a sweet reminder of how alive we are.

I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I have.

Night Terrors Volume 1 is now available on Amazon for only 99c!

See you in the shadows,

Ron Ripley
