Yet another amazing Shane story! I don’t want to give anything away so I won’t spoil the plot, but I will say Mr Ripley has yet to disappoint me with any of his stories and I am a huge fan of all of his series. I’m eagerly looking forward to his next release in this series and in the rest of them since they are all splendid with amazing characters who feel like old friends. Please keep them coming!

I’ve read each book in this series and I knew all good things come to an end but I must say I’m dreading the end of this series. Shane is a such a strong character and I’m glad the author wrote a series just for him. Looking forward to the next book (books) ?

Ron Ripley just keeps getting better and better. I’ve enjoyed this book immensely and can’t wait for the next one to come out. Hopefully Courtney will find peace. If you enjoyed reading Koontz back in his hay days then read anything by this author. I would recommend starting with book 1 of the ‘Moving in’ series.Great job Mr. Ripley!

Excellent! By far my favorite Shane (Berkley Street) novel yet! This time he’s interacting with a Indian leaders ghost. Unfortunately, he has taken many children’s lives and souls. Shane finally does him in with the potential for another sequel. Keep them coming I say. I LOVE SHANE! Good job Ron. Read it in one day.

Normally I don’t go for this much gore, but I find this series so well written and interesting that I just want to read more. I keep thinking that the main character will be taken out and keep hoping that this is not the last we read of him. I hope the author gives us more to keep Shane going on and who knows, maybe his hair will start growing again.

I’ve been reading through the Berkley books the last few days and while they started off fairly fresh, the more I read, the staler they got. Each book is pretty much the same thing. Shane has a problem that involves ghosts and he takes care of them in almost the same fashion as he always does.Through the books Shane’s character continues to regress, he starts off as a likeable character and slowly becomes an alcoholic thug you wouldn’t want to let in your house. The books all follow the same formula and as a result, the longer the books goe, the less entertaining they become.Glad I read a majority of these for free through Prime or I’d be mighty disappointed.

I’ve been following this series from book 1 and am totally hooked. Ripkey’s take on haunted buildings is unusual and quite addictive.Throughout the “history” of the boooks, we’ve been introduced to various characters, changing and adding protagonists who are very unique, likeable and interesting. Characters are fully “fleshed” (or unfleshed) and include the quick and the dead – sometimes metamorphosing from the former to the latter.Ridley uses traditional sources for his supernatural world and shows a depth of research I find very fulfilling, This particular book includes some fairly new characters which I am glad to see incorporated into his canon; it also brings back a couple of his oldest characters.Since, as I said before, all of his characters are very interesting (including their weaknesses as well as their strengths) this is a pleasant reprise.I only hope Ripley keeps churning them out quickly enough to keep me from being strung out!

I love your books. Nobody can write them like you do . But if you don’t quit removing body parts from Shane,he’s not going to fight anything. Can’t you find a healing ghost to bring him back to health? Keep it up ,I can’t put them down .think you.

Lot of action, much like the books in the series. I enjoyed the way characters from other series are woven seamlessly into the fabric of the storyline.

Ron Ripley, is giving Stephen King a run for his money. Each book in this series, Berkley Street Series, has been good. Lake Nutaq is a very good book, one full of scariness. Enjoy!!

I absolutely Love this series, these are not like the Ghost and Mrs. Muir. It is about Shane needing a break from his house then getting stuck in a snow storm and Ghosts. It has many ghost characters some good some evil, full of action. I love the characters of Shane (ex-marine), Frank (ex- priest and ex-military) and Carl. Keep them coming!! I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys horror ghosts. Have all the books and audio.

Awesome. Just awesome. It’s amazing how many injuries Shane can sustain and still keep ticking! He’s no longer super depressed, thank goodness. His depression and drinking made it difficult to keep reading at times before. But now he seems to be on the mend…emotionally speaking. Yay! Except I doubt people would say he’s still handsome when he’s missing bits and pieces and chunks of himself. Yowzahs!I loved the bonus story about Patience. Throughout the whole book I had been wondering about her character and was a bit disappointed not to have gotten her back story…until I started reading the bonus chapters. It was a satisfying background but I was still wanting more. I mean, they mention the Reverend more than once in a way that made me think he was important but he wasn’t.And then in the story itself there’s the unfinished business with the Englishman and The Woman. Who is she? What’s going on at Lake Nutaq? I really hope these questions are answered at some point. I want to know!!!

I was gifted the Audible.com version of this book. This is the sixth in the Berkley Street series featuring Shane Ryan as ghost killer extraordinaire. In this story, Shane is recovering from injuries and exhaustion sustained in his last adventure and decides to take a drive to clear his head – without his iron and salt. He gets caught in a blizzard and holes up in a cabin on Lake Nutaq. This is when the fun begins. Of course, there will be ghosts and this time they are native Americans, plus one very unusual Caucasian girl. Not only that, but this time the evil is found not only in the ghosts but also in some very much alive people. While Shane attempts to remain alive in the midst of the ghostly presence on the lake, his friends are attempting to find him. These threads form the basis of the plot. One might think that this series would become tiresome after six books but the author manages to keep the storylines fresh enough to maintain the reader’s interest, at least it did for me. Also, the audible narration adds a whole new level of interest. The narrator reads the dialogues in various inflections and accents and doesn’t simply read them in the same voice. These books are not long but there is plenty of meat in the pages. I recommend this series to anyone who likes horror or supernatural fiction.

I put down this book now and the because i had to (sleep, work, eat). If I did not have to do those thing i would have read it in a day. Very good story. Sometimes I wondered why certain characters were so stupid but I guess it is how they are.

I think I keep saying it with each addition to the series, but this has to be my favourite so far!! Shane is in way over his head here!!So this one sees Shane set out from his house to clear his head, but he ends up stuck in a snow storm and stranded on Lake Nutaq. Things here are bad! Shane finds himself in the midst of an army of ghosts, lead by Broken Nose. Shane doesn’t have any of his gear, nor a way to contact anyone. How will he get out of it this time??How much more can Shane take? He is battered and bruised, and missing pieces of himself, but he still fights, and that’s why I love this series so much. He is just so strong and brave and selfless. He seems to be getting emotionally better and stronger and just all round awesomer ;)I love the authors ability to create memorable settings and even more memorable ghosts. Patience and Broken Nose were some of the worst! I also love seeing the flash back scenes and getting to know more on how the ghosts came to be.This series is one of my favourites. The author never fails to grab my attention and give me chills. Each book is better than the previous ones and each leaves me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Shane next!Thom Bowers really knows how to capture the essence of the story and knows how to bring the scariness and spookiness to life. He has also portrayed Shane perfectly. He brings across Shane’s personality really well and always keeps me entertained.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

I like this series because of its intensity, mystery, and horror filled pages. As a reader, you just like Shane, the main character, and his buddies. It includes a little gore, and a lot of fright!

Lake Nutaq is a good book but with a little slow pace evidently is snowing. Believe that Patience was gathering info. With the “strong” “Broken Nose”, he’ll had to know Shane is there. The “Society of Dead Protection”, more info…Yay!Shane is apparently descending into the same madness (alcohol, chain-smoking & violence). Frank is trying to keep his mind clear but in the same place all is mayhem.Whose there….yes: Shane, Frank and other characters. Riple’s writing is good but sometimes I feel that some parts are there to fill pages (again, my impression). How could he return, the desire to help, die or keep going his life. The Ghost at his house are incredible, their personalities are defining more, I really enjoy that.Ripley’s mind is sick, CONGRATS, because of that I enjoy these books. As one of those writers that could make anything with anything. Shane and Company feel fear, stress, die of terror, suspense but never being bored. Yay…The plot, the characters, the atmosphere, at every book change and you know the new characters and the changes of Shane, friends and his house ghosts.Ripley is an artist moving and creating that atmosphere of threat that never leaves. Every book I read from him is better and better.I’m very honest with my Reviews, not only for me, the author or other readers, how an author know when did something good or need improvement? How another reader believe in my review? If I didn’t read the book, I don’t Review. If the book is good, Review. If the book isn’t good, Review. With that we all benefit, readers, authors & readers searching for something new or special. My opinions are my own. You can find me at Amazon under: MASTERI
