I was happy to see this book, the second in the series, “The Haunted Collection.” Wow! The idea of cursed objects is terrifying as you begin to grow aware of the possibility that your mind is not your own, that you’re being controlled by something other, something dangerous, something that demands death. Walter’s rifle is just such a cursed object. It prefers the death of the owner, but will happily drive it’s owner to kill others first, while the owner eventually slips into darkness and death. Victor and Jeremy are in for a fight with this one. Maybe it’s a fight to the death?I was given a free copy of this book for my honest opinion. I have read many of the author’s books and have loved them all. Do yourself a favor, lose yourself in the world of the haunted!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love all of the Ron Ripley books so far and this book is no exception. The story continues from the previous book with the search to find and recover haunted items. I loved that there was a small little crossover from another series and I can’t wait for the next book.

This series just gets better and better. The action of the story as well as the history of these haunted items is amazing. And when I was at 75% of the book, I literally screamed for joy!!! I can’t tell you why because it will spoil the surprise but I was BEYOND ecstatic. Mr. Ripley, you have a fan FOR LIFE!!!!!!!

This story does not disappoint from the first one. I thought the first was very good and this one also. The story centers around a rifle that causes mass murdering or the shooter to kill himself. I read it straight through in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. Great read. Gets a five.

I received this book free in advance of publication in exchange for my honest ARC review.Shoot yourself or shoot strangers – that is the choice Walter gives you if you are unfortunate enough to pick up his rifle. As the number of shooting victims rises, the race is on to retrieve the rifle and put it in a lead-lined case before more people die. And this is only one of the lethal haunted items released from the seller’s family collection. The quest to find, retrieve, and render safe all the items already sold continues in the second book of the Haunted Collection Series.Although I did like this book, I didn’t love it like I did the first book in the series. I’m not completely sure why. Perhaps it’s because more of the focus is on a few items from the haunted collection and the evil they spread rather than on the knowledge that many of them are already out there and more will be coming soon. There is also more the emphasis is on those trying to find the rifle than on the person distributing the dangerous haunted items.I also didn’t feel as attached to all of the new characters. Although the background on the ghosts and one of the victims is fairly detailed, I didn’t really feel like I knew Walter’s main victim or the haunted item retriever very well. I felt like I knew as much, if not more, about those who were shot than I did about the shooter.I did really like that the stress on the collectors’ son is increasing. The number of individuals posing a threat to him is also growing. I really hope subsequent books in the series have a bit more focus on him continuing his evil plot and on the forces unraveling that plot. To me, that seems to be the backbone of the series. Although I love reading about the evil ghosts and their exploits, watching the seller squirm as things don’t quite go according to his plans is what I find most interesting.

There’s still more trouble to be caused by this collection. I love the unpredictability of the haunted items. But most of all, I love the entrance of an old friend. This book is a fantastic read and I look forward to reading what’s next.

Ron Ripley continues to create amazing books, somehow each as suspenseful and exciting as the last – not an easy task! This sequel in the new Haunted Collections series picks up effortlessly right where the last book left off. Stefan continues to deny his “collector birthright” by selling off his parents’ beloved haunted collections, piece by piece. The collections are made up of extremely dangerous and haunted items, and Stefan is still anonymously selling them to innocent buyers online. This enables each haunted item to be released out in the world to unsuspecting buyers, creating havoc and destruction in their wake. Jeremy and Victor continue to try and find Stefan to stop him, and they work to recover these items to protect others. They receive a visitor (about 3/4 through the book) that I was very excited to see! I felt so relieved to see this person that you’d think like one of my personal friends came to help me out of a bind! Great book, can’t wait for the next one! I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
