I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for my review. This is the first book I’ve read by A.I. Nasser, and I’ll definitely be adding him to my “must read” authors list! This book is about a horror novel author whose life has been turned inside out by a personal tragedy – his family was killed in a fire. He has been suffering from terrible nightmares recently, including having to relive horrific versions of their deaths. We discover these nightmares are actually a form of visions caused by a demon’s presence in his hometown, (where he’s moved to try and rebuild his life). An eccentric-seeming man, Fegan, contacts him and lets Kyle know that the witching hour is real, and that once a century this veil between worlds can be manipulated during this hour. This could allow demons to potentially enter our reality. Kyle is the sole person who can get rid of this demon and that he must step up to the plate or risk everyone’s life. Fegan was great and I hope he is back in another book; I’d like to know more about him. Our main character, Kyle, is caught somewhere between his nightmares and reality – he must figure out what’s real and what’s not, find the demon and stop the destructive chaos in his hometown before it’s too late. I recommend this book & am looking forward to the next one!

One of the scarier books I’ve read in a while. Would have been 5 stars but wish the ending was more complete.

Demons walking the earth? ACK! Not a good thing at all. Murder and mayhem follow. It’s unbelievable to find out that you, and you alone can send the demons back to where they belong. This is what Kyle discovers. His nightmares are more than just nightmares. He’s caught in a world of horrific dreams unsure what is real and what is a dream. This is a good horror story and hopefully another book will follow!I was given an advance copy of this book for my honest review. I love horror, paranormal and urban fantasy novels. I recommend this book.

I’ve been a critic of Mr. Nasser before but this time I think he got it! I could really emphasize with the main character. I felt like I was in his shoes. I can’t even imagine living with guilt and nightmares every night. Waking up to having them there still with you. This book was creepy but really a fun read. Good job Mr.Nasser! You nailed it!

I received this book free in exchange for my honest ARC review.I found the very beginning of the book a bit confusing so it took me a little while to get into it. Once I got into the plot, the beginning made a lot more sense. I’m not sure if more explanation was needed at the beginning, and needed to be tied into the plot sooner, or what. I just know that to me, there seem to be a continuity issue.Once I got into the story, it was very riveting. The only thing worse than dreaming about monsters is to have them still be part of your life once you wake up. That is the basic premise of this book’s plot. The fact that the dreams were extreme nightmares brought on by the character’s real life experiences, somehow made the monster seem even more hideous. It is obvious from the ending that this is part of the series. Although the fate of this monster is resolved, you can tell of that there are others lurking at the edges of the main character’s life. I don’t envy him, but I do look forward to seeing what is waiting there for him. I am looking forward to reading subsequent books in the series.

I am a huge fan of Nasser and here he is at his best… it was a wonderfully twisted tale that had me reading all night, caught up in what would happen next. A truly excellent book, fitting the Season and Spirit of Tales of Terror for Halloween. I Ioved it.

This is the first book I’ve read by A.I.Nasser, and it won’t be the last! The premise of the story caught my interest – what if the witching hour was real? What if it happened once every century and demons could walk among us? Who would be able to stop them? This is a fast paced read, and the story unfolds quickly; it definitely kept my interest. I will be watching for the next title in this series. I particularly want to know more about Fegan, and hope he is explained in more depth in subsequent books. I also really liked the demon, and felt that character was well done. I hope the hero’s character continues to flesh out.The story did feel a little too fast in some places, and I had trouble believing that the heroine would get involved with the hero’s situation quite so deeply or so fast based on their brief acquaintance. I was also left with questions, and things felt a little unfinished since this is a series, but overall I enjoyed the book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The book had a really good plot. The writing was well done.I have to admit that for some reason it was not riveting. I did not feel that unable to put it down feeling.

It was a little hard to get into at first. It was a good story but it would have been nice to have a more background on what happened to his family.

Somehow this book didn’t quite do it for me. Having read other of A. I. Nasser’s works, I knew a bit of what to expect, & the writing itself was fine. Maybe I’m just starting to burn out on horror stories, but Witching Hour felt incomplete. We know who Kyle’s birth mother was; but who was his biological father? Why did his mother die giving birth to him? What’s “special” about Kyle that allows him to cross over into the demons’ dimension? Is that dimension Hell or some derivation thereof? These and so many other questions left me not overly-enamored of this latest offering. The cast of background characters – Maureen, the Sheriff, Helen Lint’s husband – felt one-dimensional, as well. I received an ARC for an honest review. It took me over 7 days to finish this. I had to force myself to do so.

I really enjoyed this book. Easily readable in an afternoon/evening. A very compelling and fast paced story. The prologue pulled me in and I couldn’t stop reading. The story does not end on a cliffhanger but there is room for a sequel. I want a sequel! I want to read more and see if the “hero” has more battles to fight, is there romance in the future? Definitely worth the read.

I’m not sure if it was the book or me but it took a few chapters to get into it, then I stayed up late because I couldn’t put it down, book hangover today.

Gripping. Terrifying how guilt can play with a mans mind. Witching Hour begins with a thrust of blood and carries you from that beginning to the present.Kyle is met by a stranger who he wants nothing to do with. His dead wife and son haunt him nightly. Characters are introduced and most don’t last long because of their misguided ways.Kyles nightly nightmares take you deeper into his hell on earth. Causing Kyle and a newfound admirer, Aley, to seek out the stranger. Unwillingly Kyle finds in the stranger the key to end his hell on earth.Awesome story for those who enjoy fast paced horror. I have a burning sensation we haven’t heard the end of Kyles future pain.

It’s action packed and the story moves. The story, for me, was too reminiscent of Keeanu Reeves in Constantine. The moment the dream scene is described I kept thinking I’ve read this before. That being said, it’s full of action. Hopefully, the next installment will tell us more about the main character and his mother since it’s hinted that there’s a story to be told.

Horror author, Kyle Ashfeld, has escaped back to his home town after the tragic death of his family. He is working in the local library where he meets Connor Fegan, who tells him an unbelievable story. “Every century, on the second Friday of September, six demons escape hell and set in motion a cataclysmic sequence of events that lead to disasters on a global scale. And only one man can stop them.” That man is Kyle, and his is the prophecy of the Witching Hour. Of course Kyle thinks him a mad man, but Kyle has been having incredible nightmares, including reliving his families death. With tragedy after tragedy affecting people around him, Kyle has no choice but to call to Fegan again and find out what’s happening. This was such a great concept! It’s my first book by this author, though I do have some of his other ones already on my kindle, but it won’t be my last. I loved everything about this and read it in just over a day. The plot was well written and developed. It takes a little bit to figure out what it’s about, but once you do, it was fast paced, entertaining and addicting. I loved the idea of the witching hour!! The whole story was intriguing and written in such a way that makes it hard to put down.I loved Kyle and Aley, a girl he meets who is a big fan of his! I loved that Kyle is an author and writes horror stuff. He has had so much to deal with and his reaction to finding out about the prophecy felt real. I liked seeing the relationship between him and Aley grow a little! I also liked the intriguing Connor Fegan! Let’s hope we learn more about him!In all, this was a fast paced and entertaining read. While there are quite a few unanswered questions, it still made for scary read. I look forward to seeing the answers to some of the questions I have!! Bring on book 2.

The mother seemed innocent enough, one of his most lively and happiest patients. At least she appeared that way during her visits with the good doctor. Called in to tend to the emergency and enexpected delivery (with a few drinks in his belly) it was unfathomable that she would born something so unnatural that it would take her last breath as it took its first and make the good doctor immediately fear what he delivered into the world.Fast-forward decades later, the child born with eyes as black as tar that stole the last breath from his mother, is a successful author with an ideal family life. Not sure how that happened, but the happy part doesn’t last long. The demons he dreams about that show him the other fire engulfed world decide that while he is hard to silence, his wife and child are not. Little does he know that the demons continue thier taunt because he is the only one that can stop them. Also, unbeknownst to him and the good doc, Kyle was born into a prophecy in which he is the key to stopping the spread of evil on earth. Will he succeed?
